FOR RECRUITERS & HIRING TEAMS

Cloud, systems and automation — grounded in real operations.

Open to full-time opportunities from March 2027

I’m Syahmul Aziz, a Singapore-based technology professional with experience spanning IT operations, cloud infrastructure, automation, software development and service delivery. I enjoy connecting a business or operational problem to a practical technical solution — and making sure that solution is understandable, testable and maintainable.

I am currently pursuing the Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis at NUS-ISS and continuing to develop hands-on projects across cloud, integration and applied AI.

What I bring

Cloud and Linux operations

Hands-on exposure to Linux systems, AWS infrastructure and the operational side of cloud services. My approach starts with understanding how a system is deployed, monitored, changed and recovered — not just how it looks in an architecture diagram.

Systems analysis and solution thinking

I am developing my systems analysis practice at NUS-ISS, building on experience coordinating stakeholders, understanding operational workflows, documenting requirements and turning ambiguous needs into workable next steps.

Automation and integration

I have worked with scripting and workflow tools including Google Apps Script, Power Automate and Bash, and have contributed to applied-AI integration work. I look for opportunities to remove unnecessary manual steps while keeping validation, exception handling and human oversight where they matter.

Service delivery and governance

My background includes incident management, team and vendor coordination, access management, documentation and public-sector operational controls. That experience influences how I think about reliability, auditability and ownership after a solution is delivered.

Selected work

I prefer to show what I have worked on, what I contributed and what the work does not prove — rather than relying on broad technology claims.

A WhatsApp sales agent with business controls

NUS-ISS hackathon · Team-built prototype · Applied AI and integration

Our team developed a prototype that translated WhatsApp sales conversations into product, pricing, stock, delivery, approval and order workflows. My contribution focused on multi-turn integration, regression testing, transaction reliability, deployment support and investigating LLM usage.

The result was a working prototype with clear approval boundaries — not a claim of production adoption, commercial revenue or measured time savings.

Moving WordPress to AWS without a big-bang cutover

Independent project · Cloud infrastructure and operations

I migrated multiple WordPress websites from shared hosting to an AWS-based environment using a staged approach. The work included backup and restore, private validation before DNS changes, HTTPS, troubleshooting, performance investigation, caching and rollback planning.

The project reflects how I approach infrastructure changes: reduce the number of things changing at once, observe the real failure points and keep a way back.

A read-only security audit for production WordPress operations

Independent operations project · Cloud, Linux and automation

I built a Python audit that checks service health, updates, permissions, HTTPS and selected security controls, with a weekly systemd timer and independent Amazon SES email alerts. Production-changing actions remain subject to review and recovery planning.

The initial manual audit and email delivery test passed. The first scheduled unattended run was still pending when the case study was prepared; this is not a claim of complete security.

Digital laptop handover records

Previous employment · Workflow automation

I used Google Apps Script to bring declarations and photographs together into a structured PDF record for device handovers and takeovers. The emphasis was on clearer traceability, repeatable documentation and reducing avoidable administrative work.

This is an example from prior employment, not a consultancy client project.

Experience behind the projects

My career has crossed software development, infrastructure monitoring, incident management, IT operations leadership, systems auditing, automation and technology coordination.

That mix has taught me to look at a problem from several angles: the person doing the work, the underlying system, the risk of a failed change, the quality of the data and the team that must support the result afterwards.

I have worked in environments where documentation, operational continuity, access controls and stakeholder communication mattered as much as the technology itself. My current studies at NUS-ISS build on that foundation with a stronger focus on systems analysis and software delivery.

Education: Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis, NUS-ISS (in progress). BSc in Information and Communication Technology, Singapore University of Social Sciences. Diploma in Computer Engineering, Singapore Polytechnic.

Opportunities I am interested in

I am most interested in roles that combine technical ownership with clear operational or business outcomes:

Cloud / Infrastructure Engineering: building, operating, troubleshooting and improving cloud-based systems.

Cloud Operations and Automation: operational engineering, scripting, observability and repeatable change.

Systems Analysis / Solution Engineering: translating requirements into practical designs, integrations and working systems.

Technical Consulting / Digital Transformation: solving process and technology problems with accountable implementation and handover.

I am also interested in opportunities that offer a credible pathway toward solution architecture, especially where design work remains connected to hands-on delivery.

The right role matters more to me than a particular title.

How I like to work

Understand the problem first. Clarify what is happening today, who is affected and what a useful outcome looks like.

Build with operational reality in mind. Consider supportability, access, failures, validation and documentation from the beginning.

Make the work testable. Use clear assumptions, staged changes and realistic checks rather than relying on a successful demonstration alone.

Keep learning, and show the evidence. I use projects and written case studies to explain both technical decisions and lessons learned.

For recruiters and hiring managers

When could you start?

I am open to full-time opportunities from March 2027. I welcome relevant conversations ahead of that date so both sides can assess fit and plan a sensible timeline.

Are these projects commercial client engagements?

Not all of them. The WhatsApp sales agent was a team-built NUS-ISS hackathon prototype; the WordPress/AWS migration was an independent infrastructure project; and the digital handover example came from previous employment. Each case study identifies its context and limits.

What information should I send when I contact you?

A role title, brief job description, organisation or team, expected start date, location / work arrangement and the main responsibilities would be helpful. If the role is a strong match, I would be happy to discuss it.

Let's discuss a relevant opportunity

If your team needs someone who can connect operations, systems and practical delivery, I would be glad to hear about the role.

Please include the job title, job description and proposed starting date where possible.
